Spätburgunder

Pinot Noir / Spätburgunder
The Burgundy is one of the oldest cultural heritages. The grapes originally come from Burgundy in France. They have been cultivated in the Ahr valley for centuries. The high quality red wine is made out of small, fragrant, blue grapes. The Pinot Noir has a delicate aroma that reminds of blackberries. The wine is warm, full-bodied and of velvety elegance.


Portugieser

Portugieser
Contrary to common assumptions, this grape variety did not come from Portugal. It has always been grown in Middle and Southern Europe and is in the Ahr valley since the 18 th Century .This noble red wine is made out of early maturing, deep blue grapes. They have a mild and enjoyable acidity and a discreet vinous taste. The wine connoisseurs appreciate wine from the Portugieser vine because it is uncomplicated and has a mouth-filling richness.


Domina

Domina
This mid-maturing variety makes a very deep coloured, full-bodied red wine. Its taste reminds of the Spätburgunder.


Frühburgunder

Frühburgunder
The deep blue coloured, small grapes mature approximately 2 weeks before the vines of the Spätburgunder. It is characterized by low yield and a red-brown colour. The wines are of a high quality with a tender Burgundy colour, noble flavour and delicate aroma.


Dornfelder

Dornfelder
The Dornfelder is known as a deeply coloured, fruity, full-bodied red wine with an aromatic flavour and a long finish. It has a mild and fiery acidity .


Riesling

Riesling
The Riesling is fragrant, fruity and elegant, the classic among the German white wines. The small, inconspicuous grapes mature late. The optimum ripeness and distinctive bouquet of the Riesling result from the perfect natural conditions. It is the combination of hefty soil and a favourable climate with sun and rain in due proportion.


Kerner

Kerner
The Kerner is a fiery, fresh and vivid wine with a discreet aroma that is reminiscent of nutmeg. The fine fruit and enjoyable acidity makes for a bouquet similar to the Riesling.


Müller-Thurgau 

Müller-Thurgau 
This variety is a crossbreed between the Riesling and the Silvaner. It is named after its creator, Professor Müller from Thurgau in Switzerland. The vines prosper excellently in the Ahr valley. The wine is fragrant and tangy with a low acid content. The early maturing grapes make a fruity, pleasant wine with a light aroma reminiscent of nutmeg.
