Wine-growing has a long tradition in the Ahr valley. The mild climate and the proper soil in the steep river valley create the ideal conditions for the grapes. Early settlements around Dernau prove that the Romans recognized the advantages in the Ahr valley. They used the area's great natural conditions to make their wine. In the 8 th Century the village of Dernau was a settlement of the Franken called Dagernova.

That is why we chose the name “Dagernova”. It relates to the 1000 year old tradition of wine-making which ties us to strict criteria for the quality of our products. Production is in our former plant in Dernau where our co-operative of growers was founded. Hand-made quality has always been one of our highest principles. Wine experts praise the dark blue colour and the extraordinary raspberry-aroma of the vivacious and velvety Pinot Noir, the fiery Portugieser and the Frühburgunder aged in barrels. Our range of products contains an elegant selection from old plantations as well as tangy white wines and hearty rosé wines.
